It's been down for a long time - I have been getting strange homeschooling emails from them - and now the address redirects to some forum for a band. Anyone know what's going on with this? There was no warning that I am aware of that said it was closing.

They have all our email address to update us so I dont know why they can't contact us. I wish we had some big name reference for them so we could be alittle bit more assured about them. :(

I jsut sent jack@prolifesearch.com an email

Here is what I sent him:

Hey Jack,

What is up with prolifesearch.com when i try to go to the site it takes me to some band web board. I don't understand how I can get an email from you about K11 education but yet the website isn't up. A lot of people are wondering, we've discussed it on Catholic web boards, blogs, etc. What's up Jack, please let us know!

In Christ,

Edward

My guess is that they're moving to another web hosting server. They were on a GoDaddy.com server with a GoDaddy.com IP address, but that IP address now belongs to a discussion forum for the music group The Cure. Sometimes web hosts will tell a website that it can get things back up and running within 24 hours if they switch, but something always goes wrong when you work with computers. I would expect them to be up and running on another server (accessible using the same website address) in the next week or two. I found a phone number that somebody might try calling for more information. If you would like the number, send me a message and I'll reply with it. I don't want to post it here since everybody on the internet would probably be crank-calling them afterwards.

I gave the contact information to a priest online here, but he hasn't responded to me yet. I did find the following website -- but please BE CAREFUL in using this site. I'm not exactly sure it is the same website as prolifesearch.com or whether it is a phishing website designed to steal usernames and passwords. It appears to be owned by the same person as prolifesearch.com, but that could have been forged, too. At any rate, this is the website I found:

http://resolve-your-tax-debt.com/

It has exactly the same design as the home page of prolifesearch.com. But it is clearly a different URL. I don't know. Somebody else might want to take a crack at researching this odd situation.

Hope this helps. God bless!

Yeah, it makes me rather uncomfortable, too. I wish the founders would issue a public statement on the problem. I'm going to send a message to Judie Brown at American Life League. Maybe she would know what's going on.

I did a post on all I know about ProLife Search and the Essential Classics of Catholic Spirituality that they had advertised. I don't know why the site is down, but it disappeared shortly after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance. You can check out my blog for more info.

Wow, thanks for the info -- especially what you posted on your blog about the company.
It's sad to think that even these institutions that may see good may go sour ...
When I had a shipping problem with a Catholic company, I had to contact them, but they were good a consistently e-mailing back and forth to fix the problem. Eventually, I got the book. But it's so sad how sometimes people can't commit to their ministries.
