us Catholcs are in on a little "secret".. that we can offer up all of our sufferings from day to day to Christ. .

do you know how miserable life would be.. if we could not do this? it would be awful.

example.. I didnt sleep well at all last night.. sure I wish I could of slept better, but something good gets to come out of it by offering it up as a prayer to Christ.. for the benefit of someone else.

Some fundies probably think we are masochists or whatever.. but its not like we are praying "Dear Lord, send us the bobonic plague" its simply offering everything up to God as we go along with our lives.

so just try it some time.. when you first wake up.. tell yourself that you will give everything that happens to you (good or bad) to God. do this enough and a trust is built. Better yet, offer the days up to Mary, and grow to love Her. if you gain trust in Mary, she will certainly help you trust in Her Son. (it worked for St. Louis Marie De Montfort anyway ;) )

yes, beautiful. The small flowers we can offer at the end of the day. The world understands physical mortification when it comes to vanity and beating the body with relentless exercise to look better. But what insanity it is to deny the body when it comes to not taking sugar with your coffee!!.... or to suffer some other discomfort for the love of God....INSANE CHRISTIANS!!!!!

Yes you guys raise great points. I love to offer up situations to Jesus on the Cross whenever they are embarrassing, or humiliating to me. If I weren't able to do that in these situations, then they would make me an uglier person.

I tend to offer up the problems at work...I do network tech support.

Many is the time when I am completely stumped by the case and so I escalate it...to the top techie in all of creation :

More often than not, he will answer my prayers and point me to the solution. Some of the peeps here think I am the bomb for these, but...I have to correct them.

Got a couple of funny looks the first few times I told them how I got the answer when I was asked, but just today one of the other engineers told me he tried my 'technique' and it worked! lol

What a beautiful thought. I, too, love being Catholic. I came into the church at Easter 2009 and have not looked back since. It has been the most amazing, exciting, life-changing journey I never could have imagined. I have been healed and changed in ways I didn't know I needed, and God is faithful still. Redemptive suffering is definitely near the top of my list of things I love about the Catholic faith!

This thread bolsters me...and I have had quite the weary soul these days. I love the trust factor mentioned in the first post...those tiny things we do for Him we get back as graces.

as someone who suffers from chronic illness and is a charismatic protestant, i've gotten a lot of croutons from people for "not being healed yet." it's really annoying and one of the reasons as to why i've had an attraction to Catholicism for so long. you guys actually "get it."

:welcome: I know what you mean. My sister (she's not a Catholic) was often told that she wasn't healed because of a lack of faith. :ohno:
