For me, of course, it's Carmelite all the way! :P

I continued this from another thread. I'm just curious to see which spirituality is most prevalent on the forums. This is purely out of interest.
For me, of course, it's Carmelite all the way! :P

It's all tied up. I feel most drawn to either Carmel or the Franciscans, but I think it may be Franciscan for me.

St. Francis de Sales. I personally think St. Therese borrowed from him a great deal.

I am a little torn between Carmelite spirituality and Dominican sprituality. It's almost a tie for me but I voted for Carmelite.

Although I am a Carmelite at heart, I have the biggest soft spots for St Thomas Aquinas and St Francis as well.

InHisHeart726 (hope I got your name right!), definitely get St. Francis de Sales' Introduction to the Devout Life and his others:
"Treatise on the Love of God"
"Consoling Thoughts of St. Francis de Sales" - maybe hard to find, old
"The Sermons of St. Francis de Sales for: Lent,; Advent and Christmas; Our Lady; and the Eucharist" (all separate books)
And any other books by him like a book of his Letters and books/writings of St. Jane de Chantal. He is a great writer - and a Doctor of the Church. He is the Saint of Love and I've read many places that he is where St. Therese got much of her "Little Way" as he wrote, taught, preached the same and she read St. Francis de Sales as a young girl.
Some sites with his writings, thoughts: http://www.theworkof...ons/F_Sales.htm and http://www.feastofsaints.com/fdes.htm
