Cfr Sisters--interview Form

Well, everyone, I sent back the "Come and See" interview form today. :) I was waiting for a while because I wanted to make sure that this attraction wasn't superficial and I prayed about it. I finally got up the courage to fill it out, and I sent it back this evening. I couldn't call the Vocation Director because, frankly, I'm chicken! I just wonder how I'm going to be when she calls me back (if she calls me). Sr. Francis and Sr. Francesca take care of the vocation stuff, so I hope to hear from them sooner rather than later. I probably won't be able to go to New York for a few months, but I want to get the ball rolling, so to speak.
Please keep me in your prayers. I'm thoroughly convinced that I need to go up there and check them out.

prayers for you dear friend!
Haha! Me too! I cannot speak to someone about my vocation. So when the time comes for me to call one, oh my gosh, i think i would choke.

I'm consumed with love for Jesus and St. Francis. Both are what I want to be, and I strive to be daily. If God is calling me to a Franciscan order, I want to live as I picture St. Francis would have lived in this age, and the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal are that model of the Franciscan spirituality I'm looking for. :)
I know that it may appear that I flipped quickly from the Carmelites to the Franciscans, but truth is, I've known the CFRs longer than the Carmelites, and I've been discerning whether or not to look into them. It just seems like the right thing to do. I want to give myself completely over to Jesus in an act of complete love and surrender. Jesus is "My God! My all!" (St. Francis quote)
I ask that all of you keep me in your daily prayers. I can't understand how this feels so right, but I am going along with it, trying to make the best of each day. A wise man once said:
"Live each day as if it were your last."
Thank you all for your loving prayers and support. I'll keep you updated, and I hope to hear from Sr. Francis very soon.

As someone who flipped from application stage with the SSVMs to application stage with the Dominicans in, oh, half an hour when it came down to it: you don't appear fickle :)
I wish you all the best :) It's good that you're praying everything over.

LOL, my sister used to call me fickle because my interests changed a lot. I was diagnosed with mild-moderate ADD in my early 20s, but I've learned to control it. It only gets really bad when I'm tired.

I'm really praying that I have the courage and strength not to hang up that phone when Sr. Francis calls! It's so nerve-wracking talking to VD's on the phone. :) I was talking to Sr. Maria Teresa about 3 weeks ago, and she told me stories of people who hang up as soon as they figure out who it is, or they will call themselves, and hang up when someone picks up.
Lord, may I have the will to surrender to you and do what you are asking of me!
I went to Mass this morning to really pray about it, and I feel better than I did last night. I just keep focusing on what my heart is saying and I feel peaceful about the whole idea. I think I am finally going in the direction God wanted me to all along. :)
Please keep those prayers coming! I'll keep you in mine too.

I'm keeping you in my prayers.
Lord willing, maybe you will be there soon for a visit. :) I remember reading some old topics, and came across some of your posts and you were talking about your your interest with the CFR Sisters while you were in discernment with the Carmelites. :topsy:
If you haven't heard it before, there is a song version of the Prayer of St. Francis, this is a version Sarah Maclachlan on YouTube if you want to here, it sounds beauitful: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=1G4MqMe7Luc

Today, I went to two nursing homes and applied for jobs there. I also sent resumes to several. I even applied to McDonalds (for a temporary job). I've gotta hear something soon! Everytime I go to apply, I wear my Miraculous Medal (I need to get it blessed). I keep praying Mama Mary will help me so that I can go visit the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal!

Job-hunting is hard and can be extremely frustrating. Just keep sending out the resumes and tell everyone you know that you are looking for a job. Personal contacts are a great way to get hired.
St.Joseph the Worker is a good companion. I've often prayed this prayer while searching for a job.
I'm praying for you!!!!

Quote
O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.
You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.
You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

Nope, not yet. :( God seems to be telling me I am right where I'm supposed to be. Although it's hard to wait, I know I can't do anything right now. Please keep me in your prayers.
Sr. Francis is out of town for a few weeks. They were really busy recently with vows, anniversaries, and other traveling. Don't be discouraged!

Good to know. :) Thanks!
I'm going to start looking for a volunteer position in various places to get a job reference today. I need something to keep me occupied. ;)
