Catholic Vocations Asia: http://groups.yahoo....vocations_asia/

Catholic Vocations Canada: http://groups.yahoo....cations_canada/

I've been tempted to start one for the UK and possibly Europe. If there is any interest (two or more others than myself) we can do so.

Blessings,
Gemma

C'mon folks, I need more than one. You know you want to. :lol_roll:

The main focus of the groups--aside from being region-specific--is to note the demographics; strengths/weaknesses; and how vocations can be increased.

For instance--the Philippines has an incredible number of religious institutes, but they also have problems with communications. All those institutes don't have websites.

In Canada, they have a dearth of orthodox communities, but tons of land (pun not intended).

Our talks on the groups will lead to region-specific websites.

Blessings,
Gemma

Since I am pretty much taken, I'm not joining discerners' groups anymore, but I wish you all the luck :)

Are there really that few European discerners here?

Actually, there's been a recent influx, with you, Muus and Wisdomseeker :)

Counting everyone, including those who are more or less done discerning and the people on hiatus, we don't even total ten people, I think...

Phatmass as a whole is quite North American, it isn't just Vocation Station. :)

Yes, but there's got to be more than two?I thought there were some more people from the UK here. But yes, I know the majority of people here are from North America.

Nevertheless, it would be great to have people from all different stages in discernment in such a group.

And perhaps we can revive some general discussions here, or start new ones.

Personally, I prefer a forum-style discussion board to Yahoo groups, because fora are more open. Which is another reason why I will not join the group.

But I don't mind upping the European presence here a bit :)

The UK are very much a part of Europe, much as some of their inhabitants would like to have that changed :)

I prefer the forum type group as well, it helps to get many opinions and keep things safe.
