The Dutch Catholic newspaper has a front-page article saying Nashville has 45 young women preparing for entrance...

I thought that was a bit much. And of course, the Nashville website doesn't say anything.

Does anyone know?

I've heard no such thing. I would say it was a mistake on 1 of 2 points: either they may have 45 women preparing to enter in the next few years, or maybe there are about 45 women in basic formation. I would believe both things, but I can't imagine Nashville having 45 postulants! That hasn't happened since the 50s!
Any of the women who are entering this year, have you heard what the numbers will be?

There are not that many...at the moment there are about 45 Sisters in formation

Ah! I see the problem. It's based on the article here which says

LOL, I looked at the title and thought, "Holy Cow! They are very blessed!" Then I thought, "How in the world is one postulant mistress going to deal with that number?!?!?" :P

Either way, Nashville Dominicans will be in my prayers! :))

Wow...yeah 45 would definelty be a ton haha! It wouldn't surprise me though-The ND's are that ahhmazing. They've got the tradtion and heritage, as well as an appeal to young women. True Dominican-ness right there :) and that's why they're my first choice!

I understand what you mean :) I also found my community through them - Sr. Mary Emily tipped me after she gathered I really didn't want to leave Europe, no matter what I said.

My novice mistress, Sr. Michelle, has visited Nashville when my community was in the starting-up phase, and she told me a bit about them. It's beautiful. She called the wing with the retired sisters "a little powerhouse of prayer". I think it's one of her dreams for the future of our community.
