Earlier this week I received my Tyburn Talk newsletter and I thought I'd share some some news from it.
Tyburn Riverstone accepted another postulant a week before Holy Week. What makes Sister Angelina different is age, she is 63 years old. My last letter from Rev Mother Cyril says that Sr Angelina is doing just fine. So older ladies, don't give up yet.
In other news Sr Sebastian made her 1st profession on May 20th.
Also there has been a 2nd Foundation made in New Zealand. Tyburn Monastery, Cor Iesu Fons Vitae (Heart of Jesus, Fountain of Life) was inaugurated on May 3rd with over 1000 people in attendance.

That is wonderful! I have come across several women lately who have expressed interest in pursuing a vocation to the religious life and who are above 60. There is one woman in my diocese who is 78 who I was trying to assist in finding an order, but she settled for a Third Order Franciscan group in our diocese. :) It's good to know that there are orders out there who are willing to assist those with a later vocation. I'll have to remember Tyburn.

Actually, Tyburn is Benedictine, not Visitandine. ;)

Am I the only one who thought, "Thighburn"?
Tyburn is the site where the English Martyrs were hanged. The mother monastery is smack bang in the middle of London (the actual site is in the middle of what is now a roundabout, I believe).
So no, that's not my first connection :)
