Hey Pham!!
I have wonderful news-after everything that's happened, I finally got a spiritual director! He was not my first choice, but when I went to Confession today, I realized that he was the priest that Jesus desired me to ask. It was incredible to walk out of the Confessional knowing I had finally done what I've been trying to do for almost a year now!
The next part of the battle will be figuring out when I can meet with him. I eventually have to tell my parents so they'll know where I'm going if I drive myself to meet with him. Ahh!! I am soo incredibly happy right now!! I really have to thank all of you for your prayers-they definetly helped!!!
:)) :)) :))
In Christ,
Maria Faustina

Awesome!
I suppose I was lucky when I got mine... I kind of just stumbled into it, really. I had made an appointment with a priest on urging of a seminarian friend, to talk about discernment... We met and talked (I had not idea what spiritual direction was at the time), and then at the end he said, "Well, I think we should keep meeting. Why don't you schedule a meeting w/my secretary for about three-four weeks from now?"
And that was that. I've been meeting with him for three years now. LOL. I don't even think I knew he was my "spiritual director" until our fourth meeting or something like that.

I'm sooo happy for you Maria Faustina!!! ^_^
God really does place these priest in our path! My spiritual director is from Indonesia. How did a priest from thousands of miles away wind up in Texas and become my spiritual director???
He was sent to America because he got into a little "trouble" there on the islands... he was way too good at what he does, and some muslims want to kill him! So, his superiors sent him to America, and what a culture shock for him!!!
Also, there were similarities between us. His mother died shortly before he was sent here, he went through a type of emotional duress because of it, and lost a lot of weight! He also fell in love with the American hamburger!! And he got sick from eating like 3 a day!! LOL!
He's also the first priest I met who actually goes to the hospital everyday and gives Holy Communion to the sick. When the parish insisted that he "rest" and let the EM's do this, he responded, "EM's cannot hear confessions! I must go!"
On his "days off" he still says Mass and has Eucharistic Adoration. I love him! He's like the most awesomest priest!
