So I was walking by a local funeral home, and I saw a woman dressed in clerics. I naturally knew that she wasn't a priest, but I went up to her and said:

"Last time I checked, the Catholic Church only allowed men to be priests, are you an exception?"

She got mad and explained to me she was a protestant minister, like if I was dumb!

Just thought I'd share this rather funny experience.

Oh wow... Was she really upset? Hmm....

That's when you say "Excuse me while I go finish my othr foot." However, it's a natural mistake. She had no cause for getting angry; a simple correction should have done.

GAH! I need to go post in the apologetics board!

Whew talk about a case for red cheeks. It's sad she's a cleric even though she's Protestant though, I think...

uhhhmmm...maybe my mom raised me in a different way, but I find going up to an adult and insulting them and their vocational choice to be rude.

just my two cents.

You gotta be careful with what you say to people. We must always take into consideration the soul of a person rather than their physical appearences. I know she herself could have had some more patience and charity in responding, but still fr. Matt has an excellent point... We must treat our Christian brothers and sisters with the same respect and charity as ourselves...
