A friend of mine who is a Priest mentioned a new Women's Religious Order in Washington D.C. that focuses on different ways to further JPIIs New Evangelization. Has anyone heard about it?

I hope you're talking about: The Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara!!

They are an AWESOME Order. My friend just joined in June! They have about six hundred sister world-wide and were just founded about 16 years ago in South America. Here's the URL: http://www.servidoras.org/

They don't have much info in English, yet, but they're working on it. God bless!

Well I believe they may be fairly new to America, but I'm not sure.

yes, yes, yes these sisters are awesome! I know the Mother Vicar who's in nyc and I've volunteered with some of the sisters in new york. I can't say enough good things about this order. I do think they're new to the us but they are getting many vocations. If I was called to be an active sister, I would want to join them too!!

They have cloistered Nuns, too. I don't think many people know about that. After postulancy (or is it novitiate?), you can choose whether you want to remain active or become a contemplative.

I believe they have one comtemplative sister for every active so that an active sister always has someonw praying for them. I have a friend whose sister and ex-girlfriend (who also was a friend of mine) joined the order. AWSOME sisters!

of course! I knew this already- I momentarily forgot. Thanks for reminding me. What I was trying to say is that I really like this order but I know that I'm not called to it. But for anyone who is discerning, IVE is wonderful D.gif
