My really good friend, Alyssa, arrives at the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George tomorrow at 1:30. Tomorrow is move in day, and then she officially becomes a postulant on the 8th. I think she said there are six girls starting off in her postulant group (they officially start as a group on the 8th, but girls can start any time through December 31st)

Her little sister, Ann-Marie, is entering the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist with Carly and tons of others on Thursday, too.

Pray for them and their parents! It's hard enough to give up one daughter, but two on the same day to different communities is pretty rough.

Yes! Definite prayers for them all.....and for all the "new" Sisters of Mary!!!!

Also, keep in your prayers Clara, who has officially applied (and been just about accepted) to the Poor Clares in Eindhoven. They hope she will enter this coming December (maybe the same day as you, Lauren, just a different continent!) She comes from Korea, and is planning to tell her parents (back in Korea) of her decision to enter in a monastery in the Netherlands!!!

Exciting....!!!!!!! drool.gif

Tomorrow is a big entrance day! I think the Carmelites of the Divine Heart of Jesus have entrance on September 8th, too--at least the ones in St. Louis

i dunno, but that sounds really exciting for those two girls. What a blessing to leave at the same time.

A year before me, a friend entered an order, i thought it would have been cool, if it was from the same time.

What's crazy about Alyssa is that the two of us discerned the same two communities. We thought it would be so cool if we could enter together because to go through formation with one of your best friends would be pretty sweet! I was seriously discerning the Martyrs and she the Sister Servants, and we both tried to pull each other along. It ended up that I am going to enter the Sister Servants and she's in the Martyrs! I have a feeling that I will get to see her again (I'm probably going to fly out to Rhode Island to see her on her home visit before I enter the Sister Servants), but if not, God will unite us at the altar during Mass.

But regardless, religious communities encourage you to keep in touch with friends you have from other communities, especially nowadays with convenient stuff like telephones and especially free email.
