Thanks but it just when i get to Alton i kinda cant figur out my way. i would take Highway 67 to Alton!!!! then find the bridge that take you to St. louis and get out that wonderful map!!!

Are you sure that's the fastest way? My mom goes up to the quad cities all the time and takes 55 to 155 to 74. It takes her a little less than 5 hours to get there. If you take that way, you wouldn't go through Alton at all.
Kirkwood is nowhere near Alton (probably like an hour away). If you do take 67, that's Lindbergh Blvd in St. Louis, but you wouldn't want to drive that all the way from Alton because it would take you forever and a day. You would take it to 270 South/West (toward Kansas City) and then at 40 go 40 East and get off at Lindbergh (67) South and follow the earlier directions.You could also get off at McKnight, but Lindbergh is a major road, so it's easier.

Well I have some news. The sisters canceled the retreat and rescheduled it for the week after Xmas. I already bought my ticket and it is non-refundable so I'm still planning on going out to St. Louis in two weeks!

If you are, then your visit may actually be better than the retreat. You won't have the conferences, but you'd get more of an idea of how their life is.

Yeah I think I'd rather go to visit the sisters just by myself. As far as I know, no one else is planning to go (I think I was the only one who actually bought plane tickets!) so this will be great going by myself!!

i talked 2 sister on the way to work, she didnt realaize had been discerning with the community before she became VD!!!! i told her i was in contact with Sr. mary Joseph and the sister before her but each time i would loose contact, but then i came inot contact with Sr. mary Judith who is teh VD for the providence in Wisconsin!!!!! i even told her i was still in the mailings from the St. lousi provendence. She is going to send me a questionaire. But she told me they havent forsure cancelled the retreat jsut because they have 2 weeks left. But it maybe be just a gehtering instead without the retreat. But she said i am still welcomed to come!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!! now i just have to talk to my mommy!!!!!!!!!!!
i hope they cancel the retreat....i want it to be a one on one visit.

Sometimes I think it would be nice to have someone along with me to visit, but then again, I am greatful for the privacy and such...
My community doesn't have vocation retreats, but twice, there have been girls discerning on the retreat with me when I have visited. The second time, it was a girl from St. Louis named Greta (which if I had known she was coming I would have driven down with her instead of flying!), and this past weekend, there was a FOCUS missionary (with her co-FOCUS missionary who isn't really discerning), a 16 year old, and a girl my age who recently converted. I think it's neat to meet other people who are discerning, and it's nice to have somebody to kind of talk about what's going on who is going through the same things.
i hope i can go with you rachel!!!! it would be fun with just the 2 of us and the sisters fo course!!!!!!!
