LOL, we've talked about that, but because of the type of band it is (comfort fit) we can't really do that. We're both working on loosing massive amounts of weight (pray for us) so it should fit him within the next year. Then he'll have to get used to wearing it. He has really sensitive skin as well, so even when he looses the weight there may be other issues. Sigh, he looks soooooo sexy in it.

How Beautiful the radiant bride
Who waits for her Groom with His light in her eyes
How Beautiful when humble hearts give
The fruit of pure love so that others may live
How beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ

So I went to confession on Saturday, and the priest mentioned that I should remain open to a vocation to the married state. I'm kind of beginning discernment from scratch again...this could be interesting!

Pray for me!

This past weekend my fiance and I went on Engaged Encounter. I thought it was a very good experience and we got lots of discussion time. All of you who are married, did you go on EE and what was your favorite thing you got out of it?

hi!
i'm kinda new here, been reading phatmas for a while..
i thought i'd share a little..
i think i'm called to marriage and family life. ever since i was a little girl i've been trying to figure out what God wants me to be -- a nun or a wife & mother. on one hand i'd love to live a life of prayer but on the other i really want to have a husband and lots of little catholic babies.
i'll have to keep praying..

i hope He'll show me where He wants to have me...

Just a thought but... why not make your life as a wife and mother a perpetual prayer. Let your work to lift up your husband to raise saints with him be your giant prayer!

Yes! There are a number of reputable temp companies, Todays Staffing, Accenture, and others. Ask around. If you do decide to do it we can chat about how you go about it. Just remember, when you go to drop off your resume and take the typing test etc, dress and act as if you are on a job interview.

I used to temp summers in college and did it after grad school as well. It's not the best, but it's better than no money!

Actually, some times it IS the best, because you don't get into the office politics. You know? That was my favorite parts. No staff meetings, etc. Just come in, do your job, be friendly and leave.

Well, if you go to that place often enough, they'll know your talents and will give you cooler jobs (or in my case, better patients). My hospital that I liked to go to knew me soooo well, that they would page me overhead for difficult IVs. LOL ~queen of IV starting~

LOL, yes! I got the best jobs becuase I was dependable (read actually showed up for jobs and came on time!). The key is to be proactive. Don't wait for them to call you every day or whatnot. Call them! Shew them you're ready to work. As soon as they realize what a great temp you are (and it won't take long) you'll have them eating out of your hand

how do you know if you have a vocation to married life if you don't have a boyfriend?
I usually see the married life as not just having the vocation to be married, but to be married to a particular person. How do you really know before you've found him?

You don't. I once asked my spiritual director that. He said that if you feel a slight attraction for religious life, you should discern that first. See if it attracts you, see if your spiritual director sees that in you, by your conversations, and after looking at various communities, see if there are any that attracts your heart. Through prayer, through perhaps a religious superior, you will be able to determine if you are called to the religious life. (that's of course, only if you feel called there). He said that by doing that first, you are able to confirm or eliminate that vocation. Because it's often too difficult to discern both at the same time.
Then, the person is to just be open to the workings of the Holy Spirit. And God will reveal that heartmate if you are called to married life.
