I was wondering if anyone has opinions about the Secular Franciscans. Since I am married and have a young son, I've been thinking becoming a Secular Franciscan would be a good vocation for me.

Blessings,

Hi Daniel9,

Welcome!!! What is your own charism? Are you attracted to the Franciscans for a particular reason(s)? What are you looking to "gain" from becoming an associate or secular member of a community?

Prayers for you (and your family) in this time of discernment. smile.gif

My mom has been a secular Franciscan for over 50 years. She loves it. I think it has had a huge impact in her life.

I'm pretty sure that you can go to a meeting to just check it out and see if it is for you.

There is a group of secular Franciscans here in my hometown that meet at a local convent and they are an awesome bunch! Go for it! Or at least check it out, I'll be praying for ya!

Peace and all good things!
