The writer of To Jesus Through Mary invites the Catholic Blogging Community in the Online Fund Drive for the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration in Ohio, in an effort to diminish what is on their wish list.
The fund drive will go until Ash Wednesday.

Well it was brought up on Phatmass, and I expanded it to my blog and invite others to do the same.
I am a member at the local Sams Club where you can buy items in gross for cheap.
I can handle everything and purchase what is needed.
Basically I opened it up for a whole bunch of people, for more donations, and more to those Poor Clares. Maybe if we all band together beside everythign else we can get them some funds for Vocation pamphlets. I am going to call Kinko's about that.
If your interested send me a pm. Let's raise 150-200 dollars for these poor clares, it all begins with you!
Yours in Christ,

While I appreciate your willingness to help, maybe other people could take hand in leadership once in a while

I suggest making it a phatmass thing ... not a your blog thing.
It feels non-inclusive....I'm not saying don't donate to the sisters, just give others a chance at heading things, too.

Well I'm going to make it a blog thing, my side of it, Phatmass can do what they want. I never really thought it was a Phatmass Project, rather just a For your information post these sisters need stuff.
I already have reeived four donations via people from blogs and a mass email I sent from my account.
Secondly you have six posts, let's have a complete stranger run it....
I believe I have a reputable reputation where people can see me as trustworthy. But yet we know nothing about Crystalheart.

no I was more rude than anything. I have conducted fundraisers before and have experience on how to go about doing it.
When our Bishop ran his fund drive and nobody from our parish donated, I voulunteered to make phone calls and we ended up reaching our 25,000 dollar target. We went from a little more than 2,000 to 25,000 during a phone campaign which i did.
Crystal, I hope you don't think of me as a jerk.

Ed

Hey Eddie,
Wow what a wonderful idea!! I know that they said that gift cards would be great as well although they haven't put that on their list. Again, what a great idea.

Also, someone said that they will donate a Catholic Prize Package including A mass offering for a soul of your family, a patron saint rosary, (if the saint requested is available) and also a Catholic book of your choice plus more.

You are all sooo generous! Eddie, I knew that we had mentioned that before in a post, but I thought it was a passing thought.
I am thankful for all of you and will be sure to tell the sisters to keep you in our prayers when I enter. While I still have a little over 2 months before I enter, I do a mental countdown. I'm ready.
God bless you,
Denise

I spoke with Sr Imelda Marie, this is the information they gave me, as far as 'estimates' go for brochures.
3,000 are $770.22
5,000 are $1,073.80
Soooo, I don't know if they have a deal going with anyone or if that's just the normal rate for whoever walks in the door. I don't know who they use either.
God bless you all! You are so generous to be even thinking about them even though you all are also paying off debt. But one thing *I* learned when I became an official parishioner of my praish and started contributing, is that if you give to God, not just from your surplus, but from your need, He will reward you one hundredfold. I have no idea if I would have been able to pay off all the debt I had so quickly, if I was afraid to give at our collection, but I did start making a habit of giving even though I was low on funds and desperately wanted to pay off my debt. And now over 40K in debt was paid off in less than a year. God will work through your situation, if you've got a vocation. After all, He wants you for His bride!
