Fr. Jerry, one of our members was giving a workshop up in LA, so i got to go up with him, a two hour drive.
But anyways, we were on our way back, and he said there is nothing more exciting, more wonderful, more adventurous than being a priest!
Out of everyone i know, he promotes vocations so much.
But the reason that he is so inspirational is this. He is a quiet little old man. He doesnt say much, and you can tell he is sometimes ill at ease initiating a conversation. But then when he speaks, and gives bible studies, you know Christ is speaking through him.
Everyone morning after Mass, he goes into the private chapel, and prays for about half an hour.
And when i meet people, i tell them, i am an Augustinian postulant. And then i have to say, that is Fr. Jerry's order. And they always have all sorts of great things to say about him.
It is just one of those things, like you feel like you are in the presence of a living saint.
