speaking of Sr. Joseph Andrew, say a prayer for her and her family if you get a chance...her uncle just passed away
QUOTE
Dear Fathers, Sisters, Friends –
Since I so recently emailed you asking prayers for our Uncle Chester Bogdanowicz, I wanted to thank you for the spiritual strength those prayers won for my sister and me as we so lovingly cared for our suffering Uncle. We know, too, they enabled Chet’s sufferings to become that much more efficacious for the needs of the entire Mystical Body of Christ. Through the almost 4 years years that my sister and I were privileged to care for our beloved Uncle (and father, too, earlier), we have countless life-giving memories of great Joy!. The last month was difficult, however.....and the last two days in particular– endless rosaries, Divine Mercy chaplets, prayers of ALL kinds. Knowing him to always be looking for ways of helping others, we gave him his ‘homework’ once he would get to Heaven and specially hug, for us too, so many family and friends already tucked into the Divine Heart awaiting us all!
After his sufferings and struggles of this past month, he amazed us by the peacefulness with which he gave his last breath. Mother Mary arranged my sister and I would be holding him, praying with him, as She quietly came to take him from our arms into her own and away they went to Heaven! As a very dear priest-friend of ours said this morning, after the Holy Mass he offered for him, “Ah! Perogies in Paradise!” , we smile to KNOW that “precious is the death of the saints” because their deaths signal in the REAL CELEBRATIONS! Uncle Chet gave his all without any word of complaint.....may his magnanimous spirit of courage continue to daily inspire us all!
For any who are able to make it, we will have a viewing at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow in SSA-Joy Rd. following by Holy Mass at 7:00p.m. If any priests are able to join us, please email or simply call! Thank you!! The next day, we will return his body to his beloved Philly where his funeral Mass will be offered on Friday in his Resurrection Parish (appropriately named!) followed by burial beside his beloved wife in the Shrine cemetery of Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine, Doylestown, PA. (We’re still working on the exact time for these.)
Always Polish to the core, it might bring a smile to your face to know that the only way I could get Uncle Chet to eat his sausage in Gilbert Residence (this last month) was to call it Kielbassa -- and that his last earthly meal consisted of a cherry-filled Paczki! “Matka Boska Czestochowa....behold your son!!”
in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
Sister Joseph Andrew Bogdanowicz, OP
