Afternoon all!
Apologies if it's been seen before, but I thought people might enjoy
some photos of Tyburn Convent in London.
I love the comment about Mother Lioba having a gift for talking! Must have surprised some viewers to the BBC's news website.
Love and prayers,

Neat! I like their distinct veils (?)...Oh to be in a convent/monastery in a European country.....

From the little I know of them they're pretty cool; I vaguely (really very vaguely) know one of their novices.
They also maintain a shrine in honour of the Tyburn Martyrs: the Convent is about two minutes' walk from the spot of the Tyburn Tree, a place of martyrdom when being Catholic was treason in England. It's still pretty dangerous to visit the site now, being as it is in the middle of a traffic island in a really busy road junction.
What always stuns me about Tyburn is how quiet it is - when it's a short walk away from the bustle of Oxford Street!

I love Tyburn! I came thisclose to doing a live-in with them last spring. I was going to spend the last week of my study abroad with them, but then my dad got sick. I've emailed with Mother Lioba and she's a doll! It's really encouraging that they're getting younger vocations

They seem to be thriving. I read a really good book called Tyburn. I don't remember who wrote it but it told the story of the Tyburn martyrs. Great book.

Dear Michael,
do you mean
Tybourne and who went thither? I have that book, I bought it at Tyburn when I was last there (I took my Confirmation kids there for a day out as part of their preparation). It's a very powerful story, even though I couldn't stomach reading the gory part.

Hehe, I live about an hour away from a Tyburn convent

I'm going there for a silent retreat in late April.
