Full Version: Ordinations in the Netherlands

We're only a little country, and not a hugely Catholic one at that, so Ordaination Season is over pretty quickly here. In total we have seventeen new priests over all the dioceses, spread over two Saturdays. Last week everyone in the South was at it, and today the North got new priests!

Here's an article in Dutch if you're feeling up to it!

Two new priests for us today - Glenn ter Veer and John de Zwart. I only know Glenn; last Summer he was one of the seminarians on our trip to Cologne for World Youth Day.

It was a glorious Ordination, liturgically right up my alley, with lots of Latin and Gregorian chant and generally plenty of opportunities to sing my heart out. The cathedral was packed with people from all over the country and beyond.

Please pray for Frs. Glenn and John (although in Dutch we call them "Pastoor" wink.gif), that they'll be given long lives of faithful and fruitful service; pray also for all the seminarians in the Netherlands, especially for this Diocese up here in the wild North! signofcross.gif

Love and prayers,
