Full Version: First Vows for Sr Christine Ann!

Hey all! I just got back from my pal Sr. Christine Ann's 1st vows and it was beautiful! She's a sister with the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which is a great congregation. The really cool part was that sisters from all over the U.S. province (and Taiwan!) were there! It was so nice to see the sisters interact and come together as a family.

It was so cool to see Sr. Christine process in with the habit of the order and her white veil. The novices have a different habit so it was really a change! When she was given the crucifix, the priest talked about it being a solace to her in hard times and it was so touching. When I got to hug her at the end of Mass, she was just smiling so wide, it was great!

The reception afterwards was a lot of fun because I got to meet sisters from all over and of all ages! They all had such funny stories about their own formation and vows. Being with all the sisters really helped me focus my discernement. Needless to say I really like them so I'll have to see if they are the order for me.

Here is their vocation website for those interested-----Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

also keep checking the page because hopefully they'll put up the profession pics soon!

they do look great. i checked out the webpage. i was a little taken aback, admittedly, by the one picture of one of the sisters -- I presume -- holding a bowl of incense up in the air.... my reaction was, "WHAT IN THE WORLD?!?!"

Oh dear, please don't get all worked up over that.
Psalm 141, v.2: " Let my prayer come like incense before you; the lifting up of my hands, like the evening sacrifice."

Congratulations to Sister Christine Ann and thanks to all her sisters who teach in St. Louis!
