is rap a vocation? I know its a skill but does it count as a vocation?

Well, rap is an artform, although making music (whatever kind) may be your vocation.

A vocation in the secular sense is what you do for a living or what you are called to do. For example, if you're working at McDonalds to help pay for schooling to become a doctor then your vocation would be that of a doctor and working at McDonalds is just a job.

However, normally when we discuss vocation around here (on Vocation Station) we are talking about something much broader. We are talking about your life vocation, not your professional vocation. They are:

1. a religious vocation
2. a married vocation, or
3. a consecrated single vocation
