In my random internet searches, I've come across two articles that might be of intrest to our Poor Clare/Franciscan friends!

The first is about Shelly Pennefather, who was a big basketball star who entered the Poor Clares in 1991. I heard about her early in my discernment and was really amazed at her story. When I visited the Nashville Dominicans, they had her story from Sports Illustrated on the night-table with vocation info!

This one is about another young woman, Carolyn who entered the Barhamsville Poor Clares in 2001. The cool thing is that it's written by her Dad and gives a great perspective! This is a super article for parents because it answers questions about cloistered life.
