Yea, they've been mentioend before. I'd love to visit them simply so that I could see Italy. LOL Seriously, though, they look like such a beautiful community, and growing so fast! They have an updated page somewhere. . ..acutally I think it was a bunch of pics on someone else's blog who visited them.

What a beautiful community smile.gif

I attended a Tridentine Mass when I was the sacristan in the Lower Church at OLAM offered by Monsignor Schmidt (Superior of the Institute of Christ the King) and was so impressed by their dedication and love for the Church - and authentic love for the Church's Traditions. love.gif

Here's some more pictures of the Sisters...a friend of mine is a postulant with them right now! I don't know what event is being pictured as I don't know French, so maybe someone else can help translate. More pictures: Here

I speak some French if anyone needs a hand. Magnificat, do you know the 'official' language in this community?

I was in contact with mother last year. I believe lessons are in English and one takes lessons in French, Latin, and a little Italian as the sisters are in Italy now.

Sorry, I'm having a hard time following this blush.gif

Are the sisters mostly French, since the official language is French. If not, what nationality is the majority of sisters? Also, why did they move to Italy? Is that a permanent locale? I believe the priests are mainly in France (When I went on Pilgrimage to Chartres I met a few American ICK seminarians who were studying in France...)

Thanks smile.gif

I don't know if this is the link that you were referring to but I found this one a little while ago and thought that it was just beautiful. It shows some five postulants receiving the holy habit- Two of them are American.5 New Sisters

Here's another entry from the archives on this page of Dec. 2006:

QUOTE
Two American girls become nuns in Italy...

On Monday, October 30, 2006, five ladies under the age of 30 made their first profession of vows as Sisters of the Adorers of the Royal Heart of Jesus Christ Sovereign Priest (a French Order of Sisters whose convent is located near Florence, Italy: http://www.institute-christ-king.org/AdorersRoyalHeart.htm ).

These sisters pray the Office and Mass exclusively according to the pre-conciliar Tridentine Rite.

During the ceremony the 5 brides were walked down the aisle by their fathers in their wedding gowns, were vested with the habit of the order and then received their new names of religious profession.

I made the trip into the Tuscan hills near Florence to attend the ceremony in the tiny hamlet of Gricigliano up the hill from the little town of Sieci. His Excellency the Most Rev. Luciano Giovannetti, Bishop of nearby Fiesole, was the celebrant.

Of the 5 young ladies who were professed, one was from Green Bay, Wisconsin and the other from Saint Paul, Minnesota. These sisters have yet to be consecrated and espoused to Christ their Bridegroom with their final solemn profession of vows which will occur a few years from now. The sisters have already completed one year of postulancy and now is their novitiate time in which they wear a white veil.

The official language of the Institute is French and the Sisters primarily speak French as BurkeFan & my friend had a difficult time corresponding because of the language barrier. She also took a "crash course" in French just before she entered. But I don't know for sure if they are originally from France. idontknow.gif
I believe right now, most of the priests are from European countries (Germany, Italy, France) though I don't know the break-down of where the majority are from. However, the first American priests for the Institute are being ordained here in STL this spring and there are several American candidates in the US right now.
Again, I don't know the history of the Insitute, but it seems that Italy seems like their permanent HQ as the Sisters are building a convent there & the seminary is there.

Does the ICRSS have a religious order for men? It would seem odd to have one for women, but then for men only have a priestly society without vows etc...
brendan1104
The Sisters are from various countries, including the U.S. They moved to Italy to be near the seminary and their founder. I think it's permanent, at least for the motherhouse. The Institute's priests are all over- Europe, America and Africa.

I think it takes something special to persevere in a community outside of your native country. Adjusting to religious life is hard enough, but another country's customs and ways are really tough! I lived in Scotland for 4 months and I it was quite a change D.gif

Does anybody know how many sisters they have now? And, is this their only community?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is their only community, as they are a new community. But most probably it will grow and branch out into new foundations at the priests have done.

9 or 10. And it is their only community.
