Thanks, Emile James! The consecrated virgins site looks particularly resourceful. I almost wonder sometimes, if one can receive the consecration before entering religious life, because I heard from someone I met, in person, that wants to be a CV, that nuns used to receive the consecration, but that tradition has stopped. But not with the Carthusian Nuns I know. Anyway, I could probably find out from the people on this site ..
