Today in my meeting with my vocation director I was informed, that "unofficially" I have been accepted as a seminarian. I still have to complete all the formalities but will be studying in the fall for the priesthood barring any unforseen problem. I was also informed that I may be able to skip the Bishop interview since he knows me quite well.
Basically to make it official, we need to receive the results from the psychological evaluation, possibly meet with the Bishop, sign the "Our Promise to Protect God's Children" and to file an online background check.
In a telephone conversation with a staff member at St. John Vianney College Seminary today I was informed also that the Seminary has accepted me already but I still need to formerly apply via the SJV application. I received that today from my VD and will send it out Monday.
Although I am not officially accepted and will not be until my 18th birthday in May, I continue to ask for your prayers. The funny thing about this all is that I made a pilgrimage to the local diocesean marian shrine and in one decade of the rosary I prayed that the VD would inform me unofficially if I would be accepted. That prayer was heard.
Thank you.
Yours in Christ,
Edward L.
