I might be going to FL for spring break, here really soon in a couple weeks, and I am dealing with the whole, "do I want to go, do I not thing." And I am really leading to the I do not want to go, but I wanted to see if there was an alternative, haha.....like go and do my things in my interest, I know the Salesian Sisters have a place there in Miami and Tampa, not sure how far Orlando is from them, cause it cant really be that far.

And if I dont go, I am going to try and get myself to Ohio, or Saint Louis, or some place for break....not sure how, haha.

So anyway...I need orders, habited preferred. Thanks!

Here's a link to the vocations office page of the diocesan page. There's a list of communities present in the diocese if you scroll down. Hope it helps.

The St. Louis area is home to many provincial houses -- both habited and non-habited. There are also about six monasteries in the metro area. I had planned a monastic tour about 10 years ago, but we moved to NC before such could take place.

(Arch)Diocesan websites would be the best bet for further information.

Orlando is up and across the state from Miami. Actually, Tampa's on the west coast, Miami's on the east coast with Orlando in between.

Don't know about active orders in Ohio, but there are a number of monasteries--esp in the Cleveland area.

I'm thinking the Institute on Religious Life has a search-by-state function on their website.

HTH.

Howdy! I see your coming to my backyard! Well not sure about the habited orders in orlando, I know there are alot down in miami but thats like a four hour drive from there. The Salesians are here in my diocese, although I haven't met any of them....I think they work close to the diocese in St. Petersburg. I know Naples has the Sister Servants of the Home of the Mother, Benedictine nuns and some Francisican sisters all who where the habit, all three communities are really active at Ava Maria University. I think that most dioceses around here have sisters working there either habited or non habited. I hope that helped!
