YIKES. Why are Mother Teresa's feet so deformed?
HeavenlyCalling
Lots of walking in sandles. She didn't exactly just sit around lol_roll.gif
philosobrat
Must be atrociously bad sandals. I wear sandals all the time and my feet are simply calloused. That scares any desire to be discalced straight out of me!

Did she have osteoporosis? It looks painful.

EDIT:

I found the answer:

QUOTE
Like many successful entrepreneurs, Mother Teresa did not permit ill health to stop her. She survived two heart attacks and a bone disease that knotted her spine, hands and feet. source

You never hear about that suffering of hers.

Cool! Lily, where'd you find this picture? Looks like they changed the habits slightly, to a brown scapular. I like it! Like the Carmelites! :j

Though, maybe that's how their habits used to look, like during apostolic work - as on the CMRI site, I see a sister with the brown scapular also, in the classroom picture. Or maybe only the perpetually professed wear it.

These are the CMRI "Singing Nuns." Included may be some who left, but this is of the CMRI, not SMMC sisters. CMRI nuns wear blue and brown scapulars.

Mother Angelica always tells her sisters that you have to be very specific with God when you pray - especially when you pray to the Divine Child Jesus. So now you've got some specifics for Him happy.gif

When I was at a conference in Steubenville, Ohio there was a sister with a white and green habit. The veil was white and so was most of the habit but the the cloth that was over it was green. Anyone have any idea what order this is?

is it just me? i dont see any of the pictures you posts? not even links?
its ok,i guess, to occasionally put up Non-catholic pics, but i hope to keep this vocationally related and not only a religious pic thread..smile.gif
i always find it odd that Lutherans (and Anglicans etc) have religious orders, considering that Martin Luther himself was against all religious life and celibacy, seeking to destroy it(like Henry the VIII as well) and wrote terrible tracts against it all...
