I have holy envy of you blush.gif (They seem so neat, I'd love to see their convent and learn about their spirituality).

Have a great time!

It is so fun to see them grow! They are a real blessing to our archdiocese. I am glad you will be able to go! I was there last spring (2006) for two weeks. It was very helpful.
AlterDominicus
Two weeks really??? I'd so do that!

Yeah I'm back, I cant really say much right now, I'm still trying to comprehend everything, hahahaha, but eventually I will.

Here is one of the stories, we were praying the rosary and me and two other people were a little late so I quietly sat in the pew next to one of the postulants and the Sister Julia in front of me and all of a sudden she told me that I would lead the third mystery yesterday of the rosary and that was like the only mystery I didnt know, and Sister Julia approached me after word and told me this story;

One day there was a priest in a Church praying the rosary and all of a sudden he received an emergency call and had to leave so he told the Janitor to continue on praying the rosary, well two, three hours later the parking lot was still full, the ligths were still on in the Church, he walked in - people were still there. They were still praying the rosary, then all of a sudden he heard the Janitor say, "The 167th Sorrowful Mystery, Judeas gets mad at John." (Or something of the thing, something like that)

She has a fantastic sense of humour. There really should be a children's book full of Sister Julia's stories. There are a few good ones from her time in Africa and growing-up on the farm.

How many women were at the retreat?
AlterDominicus
There were only five of us.

Yeah her life on the farm was really cool. Her brother I think, he picked WHITE tiny, tiny, little strawberries and gave them to Sister Julia and we had to eat them yesterday for our dessert which was "lathered" Strawberry Pie.

Emily, made Spagetti - my gosh that was like the best thing ever!!! I actually ate it, lol. I didnt eat much prior to that, I'm not a salad fan or really Organic-ish like, I mean that Spagetti was like not organic, lol. If you get my point. Haha.

Yeah, sorry I know I'm double posting, but Sister Catherine Marie shared with us that her brother or cousin, someone was out painting and looked EVERYWHERE for his painting knife, and could not find it, so he prayed to Saint Anthony patorn of lost articles and out of the LITERAL CLEAR BLUE SKY came his painting knife.

lol_above.gif

Lioness for Christ? Help me with this one, which one of the Sisters was it?

Anyway....one of the Sisters Cousin, I think again Sister Catherine Marie told us that her family were going down to Mother Angelica's orders and her cousin daughter or something had a rosary ring, and somehow she lost it there in Alabama, and they came back home, it was gone for a month then of course they prayed to Saint Anthony and all of a sudden it appeared one day out of no where like on top of a ledge or something in the kitchen.

Alright, last Saint Anthony story, boy oh boy do prayers work!!!! Lioness For Christ and I were like "please Sisters pray to Saint Anthony that we dont BECOME lost articles!" Well Saint Anthony made it a fast one and we did not get lost on the way home! lol_above.gif

I'll tell the story of how we got lost there. Later.
