Iam sure many of you heard about the split CMRI nuns and the formation of this new community which is in union with Rome. I just wanted to give you an update on their community. I spoke to Sr. Mary Teresita and she said that this year will be a year of prayer for the community and they aren't currently taking discerners but perhaps at the end of the year Lord willing they might. If anyone is interested in their community the sisters would love to hear from you. Sr. Mary Teresita said that it would be ok for inquirers to write. Also, they are currently working on a webpage and it should be up before the end of the year. Currently they do not have a active apostolate and are being sponsored by the Spokane diocese. If anyone is able to donation to help this wonderful community please contact them. Gift cards to walmart, target, and phone cards would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did not know of this split - could you share about about it, please? When did it happen and what does the new community where? Are they in any way connected with the Domincans in Ann Arbor?

Thanks so much!
Pace e Bene!
p.s. Meant to add that I am excited for them and hope to learn much more about them soon. It certainly does take great courage. God's blessings on the new Community!

Thanks for posting this. I recently saw a lovely picture of all the Sisters.

I'm especially happy because when I was in high school I wrote the CMRI not knowing their position until several letters latter with the then Mother Katrina. She is with this group now and I'm so happy. I've been praying for them as have many others.

It took a lot of courage for Mother Marie De Lourdes, Mother Mary Katrina, and the rest of the sisters to do what they did. I'm pretty sure they're not connected to the Dominican SMME.

Mary, Mother of the Church,
pray for us!

Hey, that's so cool how you called them. Thanks for sharing the information!

I really like this article. I think its very interesting that the Missionaries of Charity took the names of each sister and prayed for them. Thats so great, and just shows the Catholic love that we all need to emulate.

Beautiful story...what courage it took to take this step...and how lovely that the Missionaries of Charity prayed for every sister by name!

Thanks so much! smile.gif
