Hey guys and gals! I just came across an article about Maria Merket who will be Beatified today. She is the Foundress of the Sisters of Saint Elizabeth. I never heard of them and so I did a Google search, but came up empty. Anyone here know about them? Thanks!

The Catholic Encyclopedia OnLine has something about them.In the book Convent Life,By Joan Lexsacu(I think I spelled her name wrong),she had listed two communities of Sisters of St.Elizabeth.,One was the Grey Sisters of St.Elizabeth, who were i believe the same ones who have the link here. They were in New York state. The other Sisters of St.Elizabeth were in Brookfield ,Wisconsin. These sisters followed the rule of St.Francis
and later on the community joined together with one of the Franciscan communities in Milwaukee.
I believe the Vicentian Sisters of Charity in Bedford,Ohio joined with the ones in Philadelphia.
And in 1974 the Sisters of Charity of Zams,Austria, the american convent anyways, joined with the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady,Mother of the Church.
