I love them!! A girl from my youth group joined there when she finished high school... she's in DC. Her name is Sr. Ostra Bramma (sp?)

twothumbsup.gif Thanks for the update, Veritas! I never really hear much about this order, but I really like their habits and their apostolate! Fun! Fun! Fun!

Well, they rock. They do great work in my diocese smile.gif They all have wonderful names, especially since they tend to shorten them - so the other day "Sister Tabernacle" and "Sister Golgotha" came to visit! lol_roll.gif

That reminds me of how it used to be in my spiritual director's order before Vatican II. They all referred to each other by their dedication as well as by their name. If one sister needed to get hold of another in a hurry, you were likely to hear the following: "Blessed Sacrament! You're wanted on the telephone!"

They've retained religious names, but I'm not sure that they take dedications any more. Shame. I have this image of a monstrance tottering down the convent corridor and obediently lifting the receiver...

BEAUTIFUL picture, EJames! I literally had to stop and look at it with my mouth agape. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is about the picture, but I really like it. Thanks for sharing!

This photograph was originally taken by Br Lawrence Lew, OP, and by reproducing it here without attribution, you are breaking the terms of the licence he has assigned to the photograph.

This is a general plea to all Phatmassers - you must attribute all photographs you post here to the person who took them, and if a photograph is marked "all rights reserved," or similar, you must not reproduce it here, but simply post a link to the image. Failure to do so could land Phatmass in pretty serious hot water with regard to being sued for breach of copyright.

And particularly with some of the photos linked to on the nuns picture thread, by linking direct to an image on their website, every time the page on Phatmass is opened, you use some of the Sisters' bandwidth. If they go over their bandwidth allowance, as a result of you linking direct to a picture on their site, you will cost them money.
