I have a couple and when I was discerning with the Daughters of St. Paul and a Franciscan Community they both knew and it was all good. smile.gif We live and we learn right??

Well, mine is not bad at all, by any means. It is on my lower back.

In the ancient Church it was not unheard of for people to brand or tattoo a mark of their consecration to Christ on their body (for example on the arm).
I can recall a few patristic writings that drop a mention of this practice without condemnation.
I'm not saying that we should all get tattoos, but I would suggest that it is not entirely non-Christian.
Honestly I just thought I'd share some interesting historical info. haha
