Hey Phamily,

After much prayer and conversation with my spiritual director, the staff of SJV, and trusted friends in the Diocese, I have decided to withdraw from the formation program at SJV. I am grateful for the one semester I have spent there and I truly believe that going there was the will of God but I have also come to realize that if I were to stay longer I would not be doing God's will. I have no idea why I was called to seminary for one semester but I'm sure over time I will look back and say this is why I spent one semester at SJV. I will not continue my education at St. Thomas, I will be transferring at semester to St. (you don't need to know) where I will pursue a degree in Political Science and Communications (with a media emphasis). In addition to attending St. (you don't need to know), I have declared my candidacy for my district's school board. If I were to be elected, it would mean by the time I would graduate I will have a political record which could fast track a career in politics to the state level.

In Christ,

Eddy

Sorry the seminary didn't work out for you. If a life in politics is part of your vocation, that will become apparent over time, Ed. However, as the wife of a long time public school board member, I would ask that you do not consider that position as a political stepping stone. The best school board members are those who have a long term vested interest in the welfare of students, and keep that as their focus of attention.
Set your sights on other paths to public office, please.

I'm sorry it didnt work out for you Ed. I can relate. I had to leave seminary too. But looking back, I am 100% sure I was destined to be there during the time I was there according to Providence. And my time there helped form me into who I am, and helped me with an important project I am undertaking for the faith as we speak.

Good luck in your new career.

Grace and Peace,

I second stlmom. Don't try to plan so far ahead, or with such minute precision. As you know from your semester in the seminary, it's impossible to know what God has in store for next week, never mind for next year or the year after. We must give up control of our lives. They don't belong to us.

The grace is in the moment. smile.gif

Many prayers.

It only means a chapter in your life is through. Looking at the future/your future--who can tell what is going on???

So, be still and listen...

Praying for you.

Hey Rev,

Good to see you around. I'm sure you've heard the saying, "If you want to make God laugh, tell him YOUR plans!" You have grown so much in these past few years and I'm sure God isn't done with you (or any of us!) yet.

Keep us posted and good luck next semester at St. Wherever lol_grin.gif

You met my friend! Or a whole bunch of them... (I know alot of the seminarians at SJV)

I will be praying for you. I had an uncle (he passed away) that was in the seminary for a little while. He used that experience throughout his entire life, and i dont think he regretted it for a second. He and my aunt had a beautiful and loving marriage. I'm sure that God has something wonderful planned for you, you just need the patiece to allow for the time to pass in order to see it.
