I found the OUP copy of the "Confessions" at Barnes and Noble tonight so I am going to give Augustine another chance (Not that he really needs one from me, Ha!)

Side note: 50 days until my SMME retreat!!!! cloud9.gif

I love Augustine's Confessions. Despite his brilliant and highly intellectual mind, he is a very endearing man with great love for the Lord and his fellow man. I expected an overly intellectual college-professor type with ideas far beyond my reach. Augustine is far from that. I was pleasantly surprised! I loved all the stuff he mentioned about his Mom, too!

What do you know I bought a copy the other nite, too.

I was looking for the cheapest version so my mother wouldn't protest, and it came down to two that were $6.95.

I opened the two to see the differences and immediately threw down the B&N copy.

It never capitalized "God" or "Lord." dry.gif

Ooo! And I finally found a copy of Story of a Soul. Who would've thought to check the other side of the shelf. lol

I love the Confessions. One of my favourite spiritual books of all time. Especially the part beginning, "Late have I loved thee, beauty of ancient days."
