Well, at last, the plane ticket is bought and Mariam will be arriving in Summit on February 25th! This is what she wrote in her last email:

Dear Sr. Mary Catharine,

All I can say is:

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU SO SO, SO, SO, SO, SO MUCH & praised be Our Lord and Lady for giving my this chance to follow them!!!!!!!! I really can't thank you and all the people who donated money. No matter what happens I will always remember all of you in my prayers and God bless you all! I have to pray that I do only God's will and try my best while I am there! Oh I hope I don't prove a disappointment!!!


I think she's excited! Please continue to pray for her!

How are her preparations going? I've been praying for her. It always makes me marvel to see how people are prepared to make such long journeys to follow God's will, especially if it involves quite a big shift in culture, etc.

She's coming on Tuesday! I'll post it on the blog when she get's here. For security reasons it's better to wait until she gets here to post it! She's excited and sacred so please pray for her!

She is so grateful to ALL who are making this trip possible. I'll get her to post something on the blog when she catches up on her sleep and figures out where she is! :-)

Hope everything goes well

Mariam arrived last night at 10PM exhausted after a 32 hour trip! She fits right in and is thrilled to know that Americans have baths and tea! Someone told her we don't!
So, we're learning about Australia, China and the mideast, all places she has lived.

Please pray that others follow her so that if the Lord wished a monastery of Dominican contemplative nuns can be founded in Australia!
