I loved the article, but I am even more Impressed by her beautiful smile and well used, bashed up, taped up LOH by her Right hand in the picture. That says it all.

Amen to that!

And these Dominicans do not get as many vocations as the other more popular places. I love it that they have an age limit.....of 50!

Wow...God bless these beautiful women and the people they serve!

This is a really great article and video. These Sisters really know what religious life of service to others- service to Christ veiled in the form of dying cancer patients- is really all about.
Thanks for the post! And good job ESPN!

A high school teacher of mine was their chaplain for a number of years. He rose very early in the morning to say Mass for the sisters. They're very hidden and not very well-known in the archdiocese, but they do a great, amazing work.

They're friends with the English community I visited - the Hawthorne Dominicans made cappas for the Dominican sisters of St. Joseph when the latter changed to a more traditional habit. A lovely reminder of Dominican sisterhood across the globe smile.gif

These sisters are wonderful - taking care of the most vulnerable people on earth, the dying poor. With dignity and love. They've also opened a house in Kenya!

Oh, and there's a vocation weekend coming up in October smile.gif
