I happened upon a number of videos on YouTube of young men and women converting to Islam (see video below as an example), and I couldn't help think to myself that those are souls who might have had a calling from God to the religious life; souls who are attracted to the sense of the sacred, to tradition, and modesty.

Please pray for these young women, and for our own vocations in the United States; that religious communities here grow, and become beacons directing these souls to the fulfillment of what their hearts truly desire; the consecrated life.

I've thought about converting to Islam once or twice, although I'm not sure how serious those thoughts actually were. There's a real place for women and a decent intellectual task to get your teeth into.

The problem in the Catholic world (not necessarily with Catholicism itself) mainly comes for married women, I think.
