It's very hard for me to write that our beloved Pastor Msgr. Robert D. Bergin went home to our Loving Lord on Thursday.
I went to our church this morning and before Mass learned of his passing, thru out the Mass I fought back tears. He knew the meaning of suffering thru his illness's as the visiting pastor said and recalled many warm memories of him in seminary school. I only knew this pastor for about two years yet he impacted my life.
Not only did he over see St.Peter's but he also said Mass for the Hartford area's deaf people who would come in the summer time when the collage was closed, watching Msgr. say Mass in sign was ahh inspiring, I picked up a few signs myself. He had a dog when he 1st came to St.Peter's and he would walk the old dog around the grounds before it died. The thing I will remember most of him is his smile.
So will you kindly pray for him and our parish who is now without a Shepard.
