The Marianists (Society of Mary) have a nice Vocations page, including short bios of their twelve men in formation (One will profess final vows this coming October):
http://buildingcommunity.org/english/site....en_in_formation

They have also just approved four new aspirants who will enter in August:

They're a group of good guys - mostly educating males in middle school & high school, but lots of other ministries, too.

These guys concern me. I have had some dealings with them and I am unsure of their Order's fidelity to the Church. They run the University of Dayton in Ohio but again, I do not know where they stand.

Peace!

Out of charity, if you do not know where they stand, you may not want to publically call into question the order's fidelity to the Church and her Magisterium. You may have had a bad experience with one or a few of their members, but just because you have one person that struggles with fidelity does not mean as a whole that the order is unfaithful.

It is within the bounds of charity to warn people that there is a possibility of error.

I also know that the University of Dayton is not known for fidelity to the Mother Church.

I attended one of their high schools. The staff was about 1/2 Catholic. The brothers were all 60 or above and did not teach classes. (We did have one who was 35 or 40 as assistant principal, but he left to be ordained.) Besides an image of Mary in each room and prayers in the morning and evening, there was little Marian or Catholic character to the school. There was a Mass you could attend in the morning and senior year I went a few times--at the Eucharistic Prayer everyone got up to go stand around the altar (which was round, if I recall correctly).

I know someone who attends University of Dayton and have been there myself briefly for a visit. The church there has plastic chairs with no kneelers, instead of pews. My friend says they do not kneel at Mass.

I would like to thank those who have come out and told stories of their experiences. I have withheld mine until such a time.

The Marianists very nearly caused a grave scandal to Archbishop Burke in St. Louis. One of the Marianists works overseas in a foreign country and his organization promotes artificial birth control for the people in that country. The Marianist is a priest and told a group of three people (I was one of them) about his activities in the country. He then proceeded to smack around some friends of mine in St. Louis who work at the Catholic radio station there. He had no idea who he was talking to and I alerted the radio station.

The other end of this story is that this Marianist priest was looking to solicit funds from the Equestrian Order of Jerusalem while in St. Louis last year. Archbishop Burke had some involvement with the Equestrian Order and I warned a friend of mine in the Order (also a good friend to Archbishop Burke) to alert the Archbishop. Thankfully, my friend's sensus fidei kicked in while listening to the priest's talk to the Order and thought something was fishy. My warning confirmed my friend's suspicion.

That, friends, is the end of my story. I've omitted details to protect the names of people who made no public statements and to get right to the point.

Peace!

P.S. I said the Marianists overall nearly caused a scandal to Archbishop Burke because the Order has done nothing to discipline their priest. They are, ipso facto, accomplices and thus a part of the scandal this priest is causing to the people he works with.
