Hey everyone,
Please take a moment to check out the new pictures of our 2008-09 Novitiate class and the investiture ceremony as well as the brothers trip to Pittsburgh to celebrate Francis Cardinal Arinze's 50th priestly jubilee. There is a lot of exciting things happening here at the Archabbey the past few days as we welcomed our new novices into community, 4 brothers professed first vows, 2 brothers renewed their vows, and 2 brothers professed solemn vows...we are also preparing for 3 of our brothers to be ordained transitional deacons in August. Please continue to pray for us as we pray for all of you daily. Truly the Lord is Good!!!

Your prayers are deeply appreciated!!! We had such a powerful profession, truly I felt the Holy Spirit working through our Abbot and through us. Praise the Lord. Quick question to anyone who can answer, how to I add a profile picture which shows up with my posts (example, Sister Rose Therese has Jesus on the left side on all her posts...I cannot find that option.

We are really blessed here not just with our beautiful Basilica but with the great things that the Holy Spirit is bringing to fruition here at the Abbey (especially the blessing of young and zealous vocations)...that is why I keep trying to get young people to stop here at the Abbey because it its truly on fire with the Love of Christ!!!

That is so good to hear. It does seem like there are fresh blooms of a new spring time in the Church. We are seeing signs of it out here too, although perhaps not as strongly as at your abbey. Much cause for hope.
I was wondering, how did your teen event go?

Thank you for asking...hopefully we can get you and the sisters down to the Abbey soon. Fr. Fred, OSB (our vocation director) really believes in creating Pope John Paul II's Culture of Vocation and he just has a real gift with working with young people...the amount of these kids that become priests, religious, married, speak to this. I told Father you would get a hold of him sometime so please do and know that you and the sisters our in our prayers.

Oh yes, I haven't forgotten. I just got a little caught up in some things these past few weeks. Our vocation director is away but should be back this evening. She might want to contact him herself. But Yes, we will be in touch!
