Hi Phamily,
Just checkin' it, here!
As some of you may remember, I left the Pontifical College Josephinum seminary (studying for the Glenmary Home Missioners of America) in November 2007 and then transferred to Ave Maria University & lived with its Pre-Theologate program... Participated in a retreat with the CFR's here at Ave last weekend, nice!
This summer, I have been working/studying & writing my thesis on home missionary work here on campus and now am heading for a camping trip with my folks...
Gonna check out the southern Appalachians in northern Georgia, then hopefully off on pilgrimage to northern Alabama and the EWTN studios and the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament...( depending on my mom's health... she has non-hodgkin's lymphoma)
Been taking a vocation detour lately, but still am considering Franciscan life, so hopefully will get to talk with the MFVA's and the Knights of the Holy Eucharist...
Please keep me in your prayers, you are in mine!!!!!
Remember the Lord certainly works in mysterious ways; there are no such things as coincidences, only "God-incidences"!
"Only when we look up, do we see how small our daily crosses really are!"
May the Lord bless you and keep you in your discernment
I love my German shepherd-B16!

Awesome! Praise God that you continue to seek His Will. My sister is taking a look at the CFR sisters....although we both agree that the Friars are way cooler!
Be assured of my prayers!

I think there may be some crossed wires here. DeOptimusMaximus (DOM), is a guy, and visited Hanceville to talk to the (male) Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word. Chesteron is a girl, and will be entering the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration* as a postulant.
No?

Yes I am inquiring with the Fathers of Mercy.
Are they friendly towards the Extraordinary Form and Latin?
Thanks!

The Fathers of Mercy follow and live by the teachings of the Catholic Church - all of the teachings as presented by the Church. The Extraordinary Form (EF) and the Latin Novus Ordo and the venacular Novus Ordo are all legitimate liturgies in the Roman Right and so I would say they could not and would not object to any of these valid liturgies.
However, they normally say the venacular Novus Ordo as a matter of practice. Till now, as far as I know, they have not been trained in the EF and that is probably because the wide spread approval to say the EF is realitively recent.
I would encourage you to inquire and test the call to that community. God will lead you in the direction He wills and He will operate through your desires and your nature.
Respectfully, Mr. Ray

Yes, you are absolutely right--about me anyway

Sorry for the confusion. I probably also muddled things with my username! I'm just such a huge fan of his that I decided to adopt his name for my username. I'm new to PM, but I love it. There are so many kindred spirits here! We can pray for eachother's discernment:)

Know the feeling

I called Jesus my boyfriend once, as a half-joke. I hope that's not too blasphemic... It currently feels most like going steady

I don't think it's blasphemic at all. It's simply a metaphor for Christ's relationship to the Church, His bride. I know lots of nuns feel that way about Jesus. I used to think I was crazy until I met entire monasteries full of nuns who felt the same way. If we're crazy, then at least we are in good company

I'll pray for you and your vocation journey!

She is great! So cheerful and funny! She helped me with the Liturgy of the Hours and was so patient. I played ultimate frisbee with her and some other sisters. Thank you so much for the prayers--I will definitely need as many as I can get

Be assured of my prayers for you, too!
