Full Version: My Novena To St. Teresa Benedicta Of The Cross
phatmass phorum > Phormation > Vocation Station
Laudem Gloriae
This is my novena to St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross as she is one of my favorite Carmelite Saints. Her and I have a few things in common:

1. We both love Carmel - she entered and I am trying to - bogged down by house still!
2. She entered Carmel as a late vocation at 42 - I am the same but a few years older.
3. She was a nurse for a while - I am a nurse myself.
4. She had to wait 10 years to enter Carmel not wanting to upset her mother - my wait is
even longer than hers but for different reasons.

This is the novena I will start later today (as for me it IS August 1st now at 1:06 am!):

Novena and Petitions to St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross

Dear Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross
Child of the Day of Atonement,
Martyr of Auschwitz,
Scholar of the Church.
Embracer of the Cross of Christ-like love,
Daughter of Abraham,
Daughter of Our Lady of Mount Carmel,
You who deeply abide in the hearts of the Messiah and His Mother,
please pray for me.
God, if it is Your Will,
let Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross,
who believed in your Son in life and followed Him to a martyr's death,
intercede for me in this petition
(here mention your petition).
We ask you this in the name of Jesus Our Lord!
Amen!

Lord, God of our fathers,
You brought Saint Teresa Benedicta
to the fullness of the science of the Cross
at the hour of her martyrdom.
Fill us with that same knowledge;
and, through her intercession,
allow us always to seek after you, the supreme Truth,
and to remain faithful until death
to the covenant of love ratified in the blood of your Son
for the salvation of all men and women.
We ask this through our Lord.
Amen!

St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, pray for us!

Oh, thank you! I'll join in smile.gif

I've been reading up on her lately - since she's an adopted Dutch saint, after all wink.gif Someone also gave me a medal with a relic of her habit, completely out of the blue (literally, it was a SSVM sister).

Selah
Joining in I will smile.gif Thanks for posting this, my friend.

Yay!!!!!

I love.gif St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. If you couldn't tell... lol_grin.gif

It's my goal as a philosopher to pick up where she left off and continue the synthesization of Thomism and Phenomenology.

You blessed lucky ducky to have a such a relic of her! Isn't she marvelous! I have read so much about her and her works. I pray she answers all our prayers and petitions.

I will pray for everyone's intentions too.

Saint Therese
Hmm. Interestingly, this morning I was browsing through my books, trying to decide which one to take with me to read at work, and I chose Edith Stein: A Self Portrait in Letters. I really didn't know that her feast day was coming up.

Here is the Association of Hebrew Catholics' site that has a 9 Day Novena to St. Teresa Benedicta with a Preface by Elias Friedman, O.C.D., founder of the Association of Hebrew Catholics at
http://hebrewcatholic.org/PrayerandSpiritu...toesprefac.html .

It is a different type of novena then I've seen before.
