Hey All-

So in order to increase my devotion to Mary and Jesus, I am currently reading True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis Montfort. I plan on doing the actual 33 day consecration soon. But I was wondering if anyone knows where to get the iron chain that people wear on their wrist in order for a constant reminder? If anyone knows that would be great. I tried googling it but got nothing.

If anyone has done the consecration, how is it? is it okay to do it alone? All my friends are going to be back in D.C. and so I am on my own with this...

Thanks for your help!

Paz,
M

The chain is optional, but it really appealed to me too. It has a lot of meaning, and it is a reminder of one's slavery to the Virgin; all of one's merits being totally and absolutely hers. I looked around. Couldn't find anything. So, I think I am going to just look for a regular chain bracelet. And then I might add a medal of Our Lady Queen of Hearts that can be found here.

I wear a rosary ring as a reminder of my consecration. I'm renewing my consecreation for the second time on the 15th, the feast of the Assumption, and I did my consecration alone as well. The preparation for total consecration is just wonderful! You'll love it!

The chain appealed to me, also, but could not find anything suitable. For my birthday last year(?) I received the Total Consecration ring which has a chain engraved right into it along with the emblem of Mary - a M and a Cross entwined. This is where mine came from:

Perhaps something like this?

Black Chain Bracelet
This is black stainless steel rather than iron. I am not sure if you will be able to find a chain bracelet made out of iron (iron is not a suitable material for a bracelet, since it easily rusts), unless you fabricate one yourself.

You're awesome thank you soooo much!

mine is a medium chain from the hardware store and I cannot take it off unless I get wire cutters and cut it off. MY friend Jason he has this heavy dute metal chain links and he wears his around his ankle. Most of my friends just went over to the hardware store and picked out metal chain. EVerytime I'm on a plane someone always says, " that's an unusal bracelet" and asks about it. Then I tell them all about the consecration. IT's pretty fun.

I don't know if this is of any use anymore but I found the consecration chain bracelet on the Franciscan University gift shop website:consecration chain bracelet

I never thought of using chains.
I tied baling twine around my ankles as a hidden reminder I am bound to Jesus.
But they kept falling off, I am now using dental floss, it's small enough to hide under thights and knots well and is easy to clean.

years ago when I did the consecration, I had a small heavy Iron chain that I wore on my ankle... seriously, if I didn't wear pants all the time you'd see it and think I was really shackled... it was heavy thick iron hahaha... don't know where that ever went to but it was cool while it lasted... I assume you're lookin for something that looks a little more like a bracelet though lol cyclops.gif
