The Empire Strikes Back.

hmmm, that's tricky, but Episode III wins for prequel trilogy, and Return of the Jedi for Original Trilogy!

By far, the only decent storyline is the second in the prequel (by the way, I cannot approve of this word as an amateur philologist) triology. In the original series, Episode V is the best. You can't beat a storyline where the bad guy gets his day!

Your lack of appreciation for the dark side disturbs me.

I wish they made Anakin less selfish and whiney and got a better actor to play him.

Empire. All Jedi had was a few Muppets.

Teddy bears utilizing stone age technology beat high futuristic soldiers? Was this supposed to be a David and Goliath reenactment? Pathetic. thumbdown.gif
End space fight was cool but the Endor battle &#@&$#!

Empire. Kind of funny watching the Rebels make their weak stand against such awesome weaponry. Talk about letting the enemy use their strongest armor in their best suited type of battlefield. bigthink.gif

What do you people have against cute little bears?!

They didn't belong in Star Wars.

The ewoks were cool.

Apoth is just jealous.
Apotheoun
Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy should have been in the Return of the Jedi too.

I must admit I love Stargate SG1's spoof of the Ewoks in its 200th episode.

Allow me a "grumpy old man" response.

I saw the original "Star Wars" in the theater in 1977. It wasn't "A New Hope." It was - and always will be - "Star Wars."

Having said that, "Return of the Jedi" was an abomination, followed in close order of putridness by "The Phantom Menace" and "Attack of the Clones."

"Empire" is my favorite.

none of them. i think it's because i was forced to watch them as a kid, and i couldn't appreciate them. dry.gif

Empire is truly the best.

Phantom Menace was so horrible, it shouldn't even be thought of, least of all mentioned.

Do people hate the Phantom Menace because of Jar Jar? Or hate Return of the Jedi because of the Ewoks? You can't hate a movie just because of one little thing.

The Phantom Menace was a horrible movie without Jar Jar. He just tipped the scale from mere dislike to absolute loathing.

Part of the reason Star Wars fans hate Ewoks is because we later learned that Lucas' original idea had been to have the planet/moon/whatever inhabited by Wookies. How cool would it have been to see the wookies take on stormtroopers like that?

But then, we did finally see the wookies' homeworld in Episode III, and it really wasn't all that special. So, ah well.

I agree that it was cuteness overload, but I still like RotJ for the final confrontation between Luke and the Emperor, as well as Luke's conversation with Leia. There are a lot of good moments.

I do not like the prequels, because for the most part, they are pointless. Anakin as a cute little kid? A weird pre-teen love story? It was just so, so poorly executed. I liked RotS the best, because at least then we get a duel with some emotion between Anakin and Obi-wan. I loved Obi-wan's portrayal in that film. I will say, though, that the music is awesome - in all of them, no exceptions. "Duel of the Fates" was the best part of Phantom Menace (though the title is very accurate).

Who put down Phatom Menace?
