You need to revise your poll. I voted "No, I don't plan on seeing it," but to register my vote I had to cast a vote in the second part of the survey, which really made no sense based on my vote in the first part.

Same... I had to vote bad... but since I haven't seen it, nor will I see it... yeah...
Most James Bond movies have a little too much... ahem... promiscuity for my tastes.

I like the old Sean Connery Bond films.

i had the pleasure (if you want to call it that) of seeing the movie in its midnight premiere.

for those who don't normally enjoy Bond movies, this movie shows WONDERFUL progress in giving the women in the story a little more dignity--much less promiscuity than in previous flicks.

for those who want to enjoy a good movie... Quantum of Solace has great action, a truly great actor in Daniel Craig, and a great setup for a plot...

a plot that was rather undeveloped. they leave too many questions hanging, (and as in most Bond movies) we can't expect them all to be answered in the following sequel. if you really want to watch it but don't have $10 to spend in theaters, don't be afraid to rent it!

I totally agree. I saw it at midnight as well--normally I wouldn't have even seen this movie in theaters, but my roommate invited me to go last minute, so I thought I'd go.

I'm not a huge Bond fan or anything-- I remember growing up and seeing them on TV when my dad would watch them, and I have seen Casino Royale. But I agree about the movie having less promiscuity than the other ones I've seen--I really liked that.

it was a really great movie, all things considered. funny, smart, action-y, pretty. i really like the new bond films(daniel craig) showing him as more of a normal person than a gun toting fashion model

So hear is my take on it:
This most recent bond movie takes place literally 10-15 minutes after Casino Royale. As such, in viewing this movie one must remember that it is basically a continuation of the last. Casino Royale was the longest Bond movie in history and Quantum of Solace is the shortest. I feel the last move was an appetizer to draw you in, very flashy and showy. I feel this one is more of what is to come truly developing Bond as a man. In the last movie "M" says to Bond "Bond, you may not understand this but I need you to be half man half monk." She goes on to say that he should be a contemplative hit man, one who is aware of his surroundings and can almost read hearts so that he can know who to trust. The last movie showed that he didn't know who to trust and wasn't exactly in control of his emotions and passions as much as he thought. This movie continues that theme of developing in self control and being totally in control of his actions and letting his intellect rule his passions. I felt it was a well done movie with a true plot not just centered around action but showing Bond to be developing into a trustworthy, self-controlled individual who isn't motivated by revenge and contrasting him with characters, including a bond girl, who are not so in control of their passions and are motivated by revenge.

There is also another grievance against the movie:

I would like to encourage others to research the movie before they make this claim. The director has been quoted as trying to take James Bond in a new direction, developing him as the character Ian Flemming wrote him to be. In fact, this is one of I believe two Bond movies where Bond doesn't sleep with the Bond girl. Not only that, but Rolling Stone gave this most recent James Bond a horrible review because "it did not show enough skin" so to speak. Basically it didn't have a sex scene in the movie although it does allude very prudently, I felt, that he does get physical with one woman.

If one first watches Casino Royale and then goes see Quantum of Solace, I think he will enjoy it very much.

You definately had to see Casino Royale first to fully get this one. But it was very good. A little more plot development on the purpose of Quantim and what they actually wanted would have been nice.

In Casino Royale it took me a while to get into Daneil Craig as bond. But with this movie he is it hands down.

no gadgets and no Q. only real complaints with this one. and the end didnt really wrap up all that well

Just saw it. I like Daniel Craig better than the previous James Bond. That other guy was a pretty boy. Yuck.

I can't say I thought much about Casino Royale. I didn't like that it made Bond more of a vigilante. Not that I have anything against those types of movies, but I enjoyed the patriotic, loyal, "God Save the Queen" type Bond a lot better. I also was disappointed by the lack of cool tech toys.

Based on what others have said about Quantum Soclace, I might go see it, although if the ending blows, I'll be bummed.

i don't know - i'd never seen a Bond flick until i was pulled with a group to see this newest one - i was sufficiently entertained - not sure how much more there was to "fully get."

I have seen several bond films and I plan on seeing this one and I probably already know that there is the token bond girl.

Saw it with Bubblicious soon soon after it came out. I didn't think it was as good as Casino Royale, but was still a decent action-thriller.

Though there was one brief scene which (tastefully) implied sexual intimacy, the new Craig Bond isn't the carefree swinger of old.
Starting with CR, this is a essentially a new series with a strongly different tone than the previous movies. This is a darker, grittier 007 for the 21st century, with any traces of silly Austin Powers-recalling camp removed.
Those expecting a swingin' shag-fest with far-out gadgets will be disappointed.
