you're ten posts away from 1000. incase you were wondering or something.

Goal is to build a hybrid rocket that WILL reach space.

Which is recognized to begin at an altitude of 100km (~63mi).

I have faith that it will reach it....but will it stay there and make it back?

It is meant to make it back and be re-usable (more like rebuildable if you ask Neil Milburn).

I am one of the people who got the program off the ground.

Yep, and we just got $5000 from Florida Space Grant Consortium and Florida Space Institute for initial funding. They said they would give us more once we progressed more.

And the project was just named SEDS Project of the year at the SpaceVision 2008 Conference.

Several years at a minimum. It's only a few months old at this point.

A little later. I was involved sophomore year of college, but It didn't really get off the ground until this year. (Junior year)
