I dont know if this movie warrants its own thread, but I must say I'm excited. I read the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, it only takes about an hour! Not only is the prose beautiful, but the plot is strange, even bizzare.
I dont even think lover boy B. Pitt could mess this one up. Not to mention, my love, my Cate Blanchett is in it. I've been a fan of hers for years now. There is this angelic beauty about her, which enamors me. She is electric, not to mention talented.
Alright enough of the drooling.
Is anyone else excited? It comes out X-mas day!!!

Why does that poster have the title like you're reading in a mirror? If that's their main poster, it could cost them at the box office.
Dumb, dumb.

As well as scientifically impossible. The short story did have some funny parts to it, but I'm not sure this movie will be worth seeing overall.

based on the trailer it seems they've added a whole lot to the story. A lot more action, a little more romanza, and humor, etc. plus it takes place in a more modern setting.
In any case I would alone watch it for my Cate.

Yeah if you want to watch it for that, that's cool. Coming from someone who has never heard about it and then seeing a trailer for it................I don't mind overlooking some scientific impossibilities.....the story just looked too weird. :

I watched the trailer again last night, and I was surprised after having read the short story, to see that they've added and changed a whole lot, which seems really cool, for example Cate Blanchett's character Daisy, the one Benjamin falls in love with, in the story is a late 1890s young high class lady. In the movie she is a ballerina, apart of some large ballet company, maybe in New York? Also it seems like Benjamin gets a job on a naval vessel. Plus the story seems to go into the 60s 70s & 80s, intead of the late 1800s, early 1900s.
I'm sure their is a lot more to it.
Yay!!!

Just saw the trailer. Odd... Sort of reminds me of Merlin? Wasn't he the one who lived time backwards? So his last goodbyes were joyous, but his first hellos were the sad moments? Something like that... he can only be understood in reverse.

I think it's a great poster. It's not your typical silly Hollywood flick that involves less creativity than most of us exercise in brushing our teeth. The mirror image is referencing Benjamin Button's mirror-imaged life.
QUOTE (Justin86 @ Nov 28 2008, 03:31 AM)

The Bible is full of scientifically impossible stories, beginning with the first two chapters of Genesis.
"Benjamin Button" has incredible potential, though obviously I'll withhold judgment until I've seen the movie because it could just as well be a major flop. It all depends on if they bring it home with a convicting lesson in morality or closes with the typical mediocre wishy-washiness Americans mindlessly consume.
Anyone actually seen the movie yet?
