Particular Friendships In Religious Life

I have had a conversation with a cloistered nun about friendship in the cloister. She told me that they do not have the degree of "sharing" that other people have in friendships. She said it can be hard to get used to, but if a friendship goes awry in the cloister then the consequences are so much worse. The emphasis is on supporting each other rather than on leaning on each other, I guess you could say.
