Question:

If you could eat dinner (or any meal) with any four saints, who would they be? DO NOT include Mary (because she'd be there anyway, because she's the best saint of all, IMHO)

And why?
Mine would be:
St. Catherine Laboure: She's been my patron saint forever, and she was a quiet witness to Christ.
St. Hildegard von Bigen: What she did and wrote are really wonderful. She also was brave.
St. Catherine of Siena: Dominican. Name of Catherine. need I say more?
St. Dominic: Founder of the Dominicans.

The Little Flower - took Therese as my confirmation name after her.....
St Hildegard von Bingen: her contribution to Chant, gynaecology and The Church.
St Margaret Mary Alacoque: Marguerite Marie Alacoque or Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque (22 July 1647, Verosvres – 17 October 1690) was a French Roman Catholic nun and mystic, who promoted devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in its modern form.
St Benedict : His Rule followed by so many in Religion down through the ages.......

Blessed Charles de Foucauld - because he was a peace worker in a war-torn country, and so am I. I would like to ask him how he always kept love alive in the face of hatred.

St Bernadette of Lourdes - because her faith and integrity and shining purity of heart have always been an inspiration to me.

St Peter - because he was hot-headed and impatient and frightened, but he got there in the end.

Bl. John Paul the Second - because I never got the chance to meet him before his death, and he needs to be told off for dying too soon!

Clare~Therese

Bl. John Paul II -- Why? That's almost self-explanatory.
St. Therese -- Why? One of my favorite Saints.
St. Anthony of Padua -- Why? His intercession has been helping me a lot lately.
St. Faustina -- Why? Same reason as I chose St. Anthony. Her intercession has been helping me a lot lately.

I wonder which saints would actually "eat" dinner with me (as it is.. most of my favorite saints loved to fast for Christ).

Saint Teresa of the Andes- Cause she is amesome, and I really want to know more about her.
Saint Benedict- Because all benedictine saints are cool
Saint Margaret of Scotland- My patroness, their isnt much information on her and I would really like to hear more about her life.
Saint Frances de Sales- He has spiked my interest.

Wow, cool question, but a tough one!

St. Elizabeth of the Visitation - she was the motivation to help me start praying daily again when I thought about what she said to Mary during the Visitation
St. Therese of Lisieux - always wanted to meet her after seeing the movie based on her life
St. Elizabeth of Hungary - she was humble and charitable and gave up her riches to serve the poor
Bl. John Paul II - I miss him very much; he was a powerful force in the Church and I admire him

Ooh, fun question!

St. Dominic Savio- he's my confirmation saint. What a wonderful, pure soul!
St. Teresa of Jesus*- not only an amazing woman and doctor of the Church, but a great sense of humor to boot!
St. Edith Stein/Teresa Benedicta of the Cross- love her to death, super intelligent, would love to talk philosophy and prayer with her!
St. John Bosco- needed to add another male, sense of humor, would be cute to see him and Dominic Savio interacting, he made me want to be a missionary for youth!

*So one of the sisters corrected me when I was saying "Teresa of Avila", saying that we should really call her "of Jesus", not only because that was her religious name, but because she was truly Jesus' beloved... not Avila's!

she_who_is_not

St. Martha: She is my confirmation saint, she was a close friend of Jesus, and she deserves to have someone serve her a meal for a change.

Bl. John Henry Newman: His writings led to my conversion and I've always been fascinated by the Oxford movement.

St.Teresa Benedicta of the Cross: Converts tell good stories and she was well-educated and super smart so she could amuse Newman if he got cranky.

St. Francis: I've always thought we would be friends. He has been on my dinner party list for a while.

Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati (Because he's a Manly Man.)
St. John Bosco. (Because he St John Bosco!)
