Hello,

Can someone please catch me up on all the women that are officially running for president?

I saw someone about Michelle Bachman (sp?) and Sarah Palin, but I don't know if they are running?

God bless you.

Bachman is running. Palin is not.

Bachman is a tea party conservative.

They're pretty similar.

The tea-party is a right wing ish populist movement.

A tea party is where we all get together and pour ourselves cups of tea. Or if you live on the Enterprise order tea from a replicator. Capt. Picard's preference is Earl Grey.

Palin is not running at this time, but she could still file for candidacy. Rick Perry just did a few days ago.

Here's Michele Bachmann: http://www.ontheissu...le_Bachmann.htm
Here's Sarah Palin: http://www.ontheissu...sarah_palin.htm

I'll one up you and say of all the intelligent, mentally stable women in the USA, michelle bachmann and sarah palin and Hillary Clinton get chosen?
Turns out you have to be one screw loose to be a viable woman candidate.

truth. Hillary is definitely not on the same level of crazy as the other two, but defintitely not at the level the pickings should be.

Sarah Palin is pro-life, fiscally conservative, and it is a shame that the media has twisted what she has said so much. I really admire how she kept her special needs baby when she knew of his condition instead of having abortion like so many other women would have done. If you give me an example of why you think she is so mentally unstable I will listen, but your emotions-based arguments don't hold much weight.

And also a numskull. Turns out there are pro-life fiscal conservatives who aren't young earth creationists.

I have found the easiest way to get elected president is to miss a meeting. That has happened to me twice.

This is a rather interesting (albeit lengthy) article about Bachmann, including her "flavor" of Christianity: http://www.newyorker...currentPage=all

Quite frankly Ms. Bachmann terrifies me, and I find her incredibly unqualified for the Presidency.

As far as Palin goes, if someone quits their job as governor midway through the term for whatever reason, he or she has absolutely no business running for President. There is more to politics than being anti-abortion.

I don't think that making the right choice to keep a child and not abort qualifies someone to hold the Presidency of the United States.

Well if I've ever been convinced to vote somebody to the most important political office in the world, it's because there is a lot worse out there.

wow, prolife and fiscally conservative woman?!?!? that really narrows it down, lol. there are several on this website that i would rather have as president than sarah palin, and bachmann as well.

your arguments are very based on emotions as well, fyi. the fact that she didnt abort a special needs child, while somewhat admirable(i dont think its that unusual, personally) does not in anyway qualifiy her for presidency. She is conservative in the same way that Ted Nugent is, rather than Abraham Lincoln.

All that has really surfaced of her policies have been regurgitations of GOP soundbytes. saying "im gonna fix the economy by slashing taxes and cutting spending, yeehaw momma grizzly!" is not the same as actually having a policy written up that can feasibly accomplish that. heck all that indicates is that you listened to a conservative talk radio show on the way to your speech and wrote down some key points on your hand.

And also a numskull. Turns out there are pro-life fiscal conservatives who aren't young earth creationists.

this.

Bachmann at least is mentally unstable. on several occassions being asked questions by gay people she has freaked out, called for help told security/police that she was being held against her will and screaming.

Palin, well, im of the opinion that she is dumb enough, and lacking in any critical thinking skills/proven soundly ignorant of many important things, that her decisions would be at best unstable.
